What began as a hobby evolved into a lifelong passion—storytelling has been Majd’s way of expression for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in the suburbs of Kuwait, his early dreams bounced between becoming a professional football player and a filmmaker. As a child, he explored many creative outlets, from painting and music production to video editing, but one passion endured: filmmaking.
At just eight years old, Majd began editing Call of Duty content for YouTube personalities, working under an alias in what would become the early era of "E-Sports Organizations." His early clients included FaZeClan, OpTicNation, Team EnVyUS, and Vikkstar123, among others. These videos were crafted late at night on a shared family computer in a modest bedroom with his three siblings.
At 16, Majd moved to the United States to follow his parents’ wishes of pursuing a career in engineering. But after a few years, his true calling became undeniable—he switched his major to Film Studies and eventually graduated with honors from Wayne State University. While in school, he interned under senior colorist Houmam Abdullah at VELEM and worked remotely as a personal editor for HFPA & BBC Arabic celebrity journalist Husam Sam Asi. During this time, he also filmed weddings solo on weekends, applying cinematic techniques learned from narrative and commercial filmmaking.
Following graduation, Majd joined the award-winning Detroit-based production house WTP Pictures as an assistant to Jesse Ford. There, he worked as a key PA on set and cut commercials in the post-production department. During his time at WTP, he collaborated with directors such as Sean King O’Grady, Arturo Perez Jr. & Samantha Jayne, Imanol Luis de Lara, and Anthony Earnest Garth, gaining experience across a wide range of productions.
After WTP, Majd returned to Kuwait, where he spent two years as a senior video editor and videographer for the American University of the Middle East (AUM), leading the creation of branded content for the university’s marketing department.
Now back in the U.S., Majd works as a freelance film and commercial director and editor, bringing cinematic edge and emotional depth to every project he takes on.
He is always open to inquiries or a friendly chat—he loves connecting with fellow artists and passionate filmmakers to talk craft, story, and the power of visual media.
